Basketball Homecoming and snow ...

We worked on genetics in AP Biology today ... Mendelian genetics and modes of inheritance.  We handed back the multiple choice portion of Thursday's test and went over the free response rubrics.  Monday we will have a lab on mitosis and meiosis ... one of the 12 required labs for AP.

In Selected Topics, we only met for half of the block since the pep rally for homecoming took up the second half of the block.  In addition, we had six students absent today.  We worked on our deep space and star development worksheet we started on Thursday.  Part of this assignment was to draw and label a "Space Truck" that would hold 100 people and transport them in deep space.  Student were to have a solution for the carbon / oxygen cycle as part of the problem to solve.  Below is a couple of the entries from Jonathan and Kacy ...

On Monday we will finish up our study of astronomy and earth science before starting our unit in physics later in the week.

For softball, we had hitting after school and finished at 4:30 and headed for home since it was snowing.

Tonight is the basketball homecoming games and festivities ...  vs. Franklin Simpson HS.
